One
of the most rewarding
features of my practice is performing Breast Augmentation. The
female breast is often considered by society to be one of the
central aspects of a woman’s femininity. I truly enjoy helping
my patients to achieve the desired look they have sought for so
long to attain. My clients come to me for many different reasons,
and many have thought about surgery for quite a long time. Often,
patients even come to my practice from other states and countries.
A number have been celebrities.
Most
patients simply wish to have a fuller appearance to their breast,
looking to me to give them what mother nature simply did not.
Some come after having been through pregnancy with post-partum
breast atrophy and wish to be restored to the full-figured
appearance
they once had. While other patients have begun to experience the
effects of aging, wherein their breasts begin to show signs of
ptosis (droop). For those patients with minimal ptosis, a Breast
Enlargement often gives the desired degree of breast lift to correct
their problem. Others, with major degrees of ptosis, may also
have a Mastopexy (Breast Lift) done in conjunction with their
Breast Augmentation.
Since I am board certified in both Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as General Surgery, I have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the breast. I routinely perform all types of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, including Augmentation, Mastopexy (Breast Lift), Implant Exchange for aged implants, Correction of Breast Deformities, Breast Reduction, and Breast Reconstruction after mastectomy for cancer. I am an enrolled in the Gel Implant Research Studies for both Mentor Corporation and Inamed (formerly known as McGhan Medical). If patients desire gel implants and meet criteria for enrollment in the Gel Protocol, they may be given the choice between Saline-Filled Implants (standard) or Silicone Gel-Filled implants.
I
give my patients a thorough explanation of what surgery involves
and give them choices as to the type, shape, and size of the breast
implants that would be best for them, as well as the surgical
approaches that can be used for placement (such as: crease, axillary,
or periareolar incisions and submuscular or subglandular placement).
Each patient is different, and I help guide each individual patient
personally though the decision process to help her decide which
is right for her, in order to achieve a long-lasting and natural
appearing result. I generally perform these surgeries in accredited
outpatient hospital facilities, to ensure operating room sterility,
excellent anesthesia, and most importantly, patient safety and
comfort. The privacy of my patient is extremely important and
kept confidential.
Our relationship does not end after the surgery. I follow my patients during the healing process to make sure they have achieved the best possible results in regards to shape, size, appearance, softness, and scar fading techniques.
In summary, I perform all aspects of aesthetic breast surgery. I consider each patient and their needs individually, and personally follow each one to make sure we have achieved the very best possible result. I am very conscientious and take great pride in my work, to provide you with the best level of medical care.
