Breast Augmentation Makes Swiss Patient’s Makeover Complete

This patient profile is written by Sandra Hillmann, who traveled from Switzerland to Orlando to have breast enlargement.

Last year, I made a decision millions of American women make each year: I decided to have breast augmentation. My circumstances were a little more complicated than those of most patients, however, because I am not an American. I live in Switzerland. I had been considering breast augmentation and had done some preliminary research. After losing quite a bit of weight, I knew that the time had come.

My next important decision was choosing a plastic surgeon. I knew I wanted to have the surgery in the U.S. because I think American surgeons have more experience than the Swiss since breast augmentation is much more common here than in Switzerland.. [read all]

She fought cancer -- and for chance at more children - Orlando Sentinel 2008

The tears wouldn't stop. She'd already lost so much. Her sense of peace. Her newlywed joy. Her breast. The cancer took all that -- and threatened to seize even more. She'd need years of cancer-fighting drugs after surgery.

But the drugs would wither her chances of having a child with her husband, an Army sergeant. There was hope. They could freeze embryos, which would grant the Orlando woman a sporting chance at motherhood again after what could be a half-decade of chemotherapy. But she had less than a month before starting the regimen to undergo the fertility treatment. So Army Spc. Yissel Soto Rodrguez turned to Uncle Sam.

But hope made an abrupt about-face. Her military medical coverage would pay to save her life -- not her fertility. She had been warmed by the glow on her husband's face when he mentioned kids. Now, her guilt crowded out hope. And there was so little time. But an ally stepped up. Her boss knew -- hoped, really -- that there must be a civilian doctor out there somewhere who could help. Abdominal Surgery Following Colon Cancer

It has been two weeks since my surgery, and I wanted to thank you for everything that you have done for me during this process.

Although, I was not happy with my abdominal area after my surgery for colon cancer five years ago, I don't believe that I would have made the decision to have elective surgery to correct the problems if it had not been for you. It took several months for me to make the decision after I initially discussed the procedure with you.

The amount of time you took to explain the procedure, including the risks was unexpected as most doctors seem to want to move quickly to the next patient. You listened patiently to my questions and answered 3each one in person. [read all]

Referral "Orlando Cicilioni, He is the Best"

As I neared 50 and looked in the mirror I hated what was looking back at me. My face was sagging. I had lumps down here. I had lumps over there. And well, not just my face was sagging. I decided that it was time to do something about it, to do something for me. I talked to my husband about what I wanted to do and he said, "Don't cut corners. Find the best because you don't want to be sorry for the rest of your life." ... My sister works in a hospital emergency room and has the opportunity to meet many doctors and know their reputations both personally and professionally so I asked her who she knew to be really good. She told me immediately, "Orlando cicilioni. He is the best." [read all]

Breast Cancer Patient

Approximately five years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Idecided to have both breasts surgically removed, even though only one breast was cancerous. I was asked if I would like to have a consult with a plastic surgeon. Prior to this diagnosis, my only contact with plastic surgery was by watching programs on television. I decided to go to the consult, but I had made up my mind before going that I would not have any permanent reconstruction.... Dr. Orlando Cicilioni is not only a skilled plastic surgeon, but a caring and compassionate person. .. [read all]
